I am a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist, and I offer this approach to nearly all my clients. I am so passionate about how helpful this modality can be! EMDR is based in the Adaptive Information Processing model, which posits that our brains are always moving toward health, but that difficult experiences can block that growth. Through finding the memories and triggers associated with those blocks, and then reprocessing them through bilateral movements (eye movements or bilateral tapping) clients find deep healing. I have seen EMDR work beautifully at making trauma triggers (like a knee-jerk response to a certain smell) lose their power, at helping build new adaptive belief systems, and reframe past experiences in a new light. EMDR has been well-researched and shown to be remarkably effective as a treatment for trauma, anxiety, depression, and much more. As a certified EMDR therapist I have extensive training, consultation, and experience in working with the modality and many different forms of trauma.

Changing the memories that form the way we see ourselves also changes the way we view others. Therefore, our relationships, job performance, what we are willing to do or are able to resist, all move in a positive direction.
